BIOGRAPHY

STEP 1

Analisis

I both design and build, single pieces or entire spaces. Every project starts with a consultation on necessities, aesthetic and budget; in person if the distance allows it or by means of videos and photos of the spaces concerned.

STEP 2

Design

My clients vary from people looking for that special piece of furniture or light that they can´t find in any shop to architects and interior designers who want to offer something unique in their projects. I have worked for restaurants, hotels, cafés, yoga schools, spas and retail stores.

Step 3

Construction

My creations are one-off pieces, made by me personally, which makes it impossible to create exact copies of the work in my catalogue, although I can certainly make something very similar if the clients so desire.

Step 4

Delivery

The time required in the making depends on the numbers and complexity, but as an example, a lamp can be ready within a week, a table about 15 days. I can personally mount the lamps if needed or deliver the items, the cost of which depends on the distance and number of pieces.

My diploma in architecture plays a vital role in my work, as it helps me to understand spaces, proportions and structure, all fundamentals in designing projects. I love visualizing possibilities and I do a lot of sketching. Sketches in perspective are my favorite way of communicating ideas to clients, they are quick to do and transmit better the often organic materials included in the designs. Later on in the process, after an idea has been defined, I will make drawings and plans to scale both for the client and me as a guide and reference to the process.

ANJA BRINKMANN

BIOGRAPHY

Architect, artist and woodworker, with a diploma in architecture from Oxford Brookes University in 1986.

Born in Germany, raised in the Netherlands, educated in Aachen (Germany), London and Oxford, I have been living in Spain for more than 20 years as a designer and “maker”.

I create spaces as well as individual pieces, unique and personalized; for hotels, restaurants, private homes, yoga schools to name but a few...

Always aiming for solutions which combine beauty and practicality. With a special capacity for taking in a clients needs and visualizing them in order to arrive at harmonious and surprising environments.

Design magazines such as AD, ELLE DECO, VOGUE and others have published my work. I have participated in “CASA DECOR MADRID” and had exhibitions in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rio de Janeiro, Cologne, Switzerland, Barcelona and Madrid.

My creations have been sent to many places all over the globe. For the furniture I use recycled quality wood whenever possible, and special branches, found along riverbeds and lakes for many of the lamps; for their aesthetic interest and uniqueness and due to my environmental conscience.

Highly creative with an aptitude to conceive ideas for spaces and convey them through illustrations.

My artistic work is my calling and reason for being; to create beauty and usefulness in combinations ever surprising; all the while, being driven by my clients joyous anticipation to keep on inventing, imagining and materializing.
